SERVPRO of Sussex County would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our friends and customers a safe and happy holiday season! While all of our minds are full of all the typical holiday challenges; we would encourage everyone to focus on SAFETY during the Holidays Statistics show that most house fires occur during the holidays, Candles, lights, kitchen mishaps, fireplaces and extension cords all need to be handled and maintained regularly and used properly to avoid major damage. Make sure that all lights and extension cords are certified as safe and never put lit candles on your Christmas tree. If you are like my family; you enjoy your fireplace during the holidays. Please make sure your fireplace and chimney are cleaned regularly and be aware of strong winds that may carry embers and create more danger. The Holidays also bring colder weather to most of us and frozen pipes can be a major and expensive problem. Keep track of the local temperatures and take proper safety measures to ensure that you pipes stay warm. Again, we wish that everyone enjoys the holiday season without problems or challenges of these types - but prevention is the key to safety.
